Building the next generation of AI-driven energy innovators for a climate-neutral Europe.

AI4GreenDeal

AI4GreenDeal is a four-year EU-funded flagship initiative accelerating Europe’s green and digital transition by equipping future energy professionals with advanced AI and data skills. Coordinated by InnoEnergy and powered by a consortium of leading universities, business schools, research institutes and innovative SMEs across 10 countries, the project will deliver a 120-ECTS double-degree Master’s programme and 238 hours of flexible, stackable online modules for students and professionals. Built on the InnoEnergy Data Science for Energy Engineers framework and co-created with industry, the programme integrates active, challenge-based learning to close Europe’s digital skills gap. By 2029, AI4GreenDeal aims to train 150 Master’s students and certify 300 professionals in AI for sustainable energy.

Key components of the initiative

A new Master’s, flexible online modules, industry co-creation, and a sustainable education model—built to power Europe’s green and digital transition.

1. A 120-ECTS Double-Degree Master’s Programme

Combining energy systems engineering, AI and data science, and innovation & entrepreneurship.

2. A Suite of 238 Hours of Stackable Online Learning Modules

Flexible, self-standing modules for both Master’s students and working professionals seeking certification in AI for sustainable energy.

3. Industry Co-Creation and Real-World Use Cases

Active involvement of start-ups, SMEs and industry partners in course design, challenge-based learning, guest lectures and applied projects.

4. A Long-Term, Accredited and Sustainable Education Model

Including multi-university accreditation, quality assurance, innovation & entrepreneurship strategies, and sustainability planning for continuation beyond the project.
